John Abraham's private moments being watched

Sometimes fans go to great extent to get a personal lowdown of their favourite star.
We have heard of star-struck fans stalking celebrities in Hollywood and even bugging their house in some instances. Now, the trend seems to have made its way to India too.
Recently, a fan has allegedly been sneaking into John Abraham ’s day-to-day life by stealthily peeping (probably by a telescope) into his new apartment in Sea Glimpse at Bandstand, Bandra.
Not only this, the fan even posted the details of his observations on John’s official website, sharing the information with other fans. The information revealed very minute details of John’s life: at what time he woke up, what he had for breakfast and who came to meet him at his apartment.
After these postings continued for three days, the designer of John’s website swung into action and blocked the fan’s ID.
John says he finds it amusing that people would want to know what he does in his house.
He is reportedly planning to grow big plants around the windows so that peeping Toms cannot peek inside.

John-Vidya affair? All smoke, no fire!

Recently, the chemistry between actors John Abraham and Vidya Balan became the grist for rumour mills.

Let’s admit it. If two co-stars have some steamy scenes in a film, the gossipmongers have a knack to link them up. It has happened with Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra , Emraan Hashmi and Celina Jaitley and many more stars. John and Vidya happen to be the latest target.

The two are playing lovers in Nikhil Advani’s movie Salaam-e-Ishq . While filming for the movie, John and Vidya shared very good chemistry, which is evident in the promotional stills of the scenes showing them together. Some rumours even said that while shooting for a scene in which John and Vidya hide themselves under a dupatta, the two stayed under the dupatta for good many seconds even after the director had called ‘cut’.

While such canards have only fuelled the rumours further, Vidya has expressed her displeasure at such gossip-talk. John, on the other hand, has made public appearances with his longtime girlfriend Bipasha Basu to drive home the point that he is still with Bips.

Vidya says she just wants to focus on her work as she has some big movies coming up.

Vidya is presently a part of three big movies : Mani Ratnam’s Guru , Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Eklavya and Nikhil Advani’s ‘Salaam-e-Ishq’.

John Abraham's next film to roll on 13 Oct

MUMBAI: Writer and director Anurag Kashyap (Satya, Shool and Kaun) will commence the shooting for producers Kumar Mangat and Vishal Bharadwaj's next film No Smoking starring John Abraham from 13 October.

"No Smoking will go on floors on 13 October. The movie is an anti-smoking feature film with a message, and is being jointly produced by Vishal Bharadwaj and Kumar Mangat. It's a peculiar thriller about an arrogant, selfish man played by John Abraham, who's a chain smoker, agrees to give it up and go into rehab to save his marriage," says Kashyap.

"Unlike some media reports, which mention that the movie will also star Ajay Devgan or Nana Patekar, the fact is that John is the only hero of the film. We are on the verge of finalizing the remaining cast. It will be a big budget film and will have music by Vishal Bharadwaj, lyrics are written by Gulzarji, Rajeev Ravi (Chandni Bar fame) will be the cameraman and editing will be by Bharti Bajaj (Black Friday)," he adds.

Kashyap's other film Black Friday will be released once the verdict of the Mumbai blasts is out. "My movie has been screened in 30 film festivals abroad. I have also showed it at the Columbia University and Washington's Smithsonian Institute," says Kashyap.

Ritu wants Bipasha as Draupadi & John as Arjun

It looks like the 'media mischief’ between Bengal's prized celluloid creator Rituparno Ghosh and John Abraham are over. Claiming he was misquoted on John being a misfit to play Bhootnath in Pritish Nandy Communications Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam, Ritu says he's now at peace with the idea. "I never said I was unhappy with John as an actor. We sorted out the differences. Not just Bhootnath. I also want John to play Arjun in my Mahabharat where Bipasha will be Draupadi. He has the right personality for my version of the epic. Initially I did have reservations about John as Bhootnath. But if you remember, I also had reservations about Kiran Kher in Bariwali. Finally she was fine. Once I came to terms with John as Bhootnath, I've decided to re-write the character to suit his persona." Ritu describes his Draupadi as a mixture of B.R. Chopra's Mahabharat and Peter Brooks' take on the Hindu epic. "Draupadi has a huge canvas We can't possibly show her whole life. It's the Mahabharat seen from Draupadi's point of view. It would be very intimate, womanist and minimalist"I think B.R. Chopra did a great job of familiarizing the nation with the Mahabharat. Now everyone know who's who in the epic, so my job is made easier." Ritu's Draupadi would be a mixture of Mallika Sarabhai in Peter Brooks' Mahabharat and Roopa Ganguly in B.R. Chopra's take on the epic. "Bipasha was chosen primarily because of her skin complexion. Color politics is very important in the Mahabharat. Three of the characters Krishna, Vyas and Draupadi have to be really dark". Bipasha is a very contemporary actress. But to me getting the look right is half the battle. She has the sensuality, enigma and the beauty. When I worked in Chokher Bali with Aishwarya Rai everyone said she was plastic. But see what she did."
The film will be made at an estimated budget of Rs 8 crores. "That isn't too much money. I don't see my Draupadi as a lavish flamboyant kitschy epic. But the whole film will be shot outdoors in Ladakh. My story starts after the great epic war." Ritu wants regional actors to play the Pandavas. "That would make mine a pan-Indian film. But for Dhritirashtra and Kunti I want Naseer and Shabana. Shabana has already agreed. All the Pandavas have to be tall and rugged." Ritu has lined up two period epics. "But making Draupadi and then going into Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam would be no stress for me. Yes they're much bigger films than my two new films Khela and Sunglass. But making epics aren't a daunting task. No matter what the size of a film, its making will fill you with the nervous excitement of trying out the unknown. But yes, making Sahib Bibi... Will be easier than Draupadi. I know the milieu.
